Former President Donald Trump delivered the harshest criticism to this point of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after the governor’s colossal mid-term victory on Tuesday night, referring to the rising star as an “average Republican” who doesn’t prescribe “loyalty and sophistication.”
The ex-president’s statement released Thursday portrays DeSantis (whom he called Ron DeSanctimonious) as a puppet for establishment conservatives for use against him and your complete MAGA movement.
“NewsCorp, aka Fox, Wall Streetnot great anymore Post office in Latest York (bring the colonel back!), it’s very for Governor Ron DeSanctimonious, a median REPUBLICAN governor with great Public Relations, ”the previous president began.
Trump largely attributed the governor of Florida’s popularity to his anti-coronavirus policy, arguing that DeSantis “has the advantage of SUNSHINE where people from the mismanaged states of the north will go regardless of who the governor was.”
As for the way DeSantis became a rising star of the Republican Party, the previous president attributed this to his support within the 2018 primaries, arguing that the governor would suffer a political defeat without his endorsement. Trump wrote:
Ron got here to me in desperate form in 2017 – he was politically dead, losing in a landslide to excellent Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, who was loaded with money and great poll results. Ron had low approval, bad polls, and no money, but said if I backed him he could win. I didn’t know Adam so I said, “Let’s try Ron.” After I endorsed it, it was as if, to place it wrongly, a nuclear weapon had exploded.
When it got here to the primaries themselves – when DeSantis won ahead of disgraced Democrat Andrew Gillum – the previous president said its use by the FBI and the Justice Department prevented Broward County elections from being stolen. Trump said:
I also fixed his campaign which fell apart completely. I used to be for Ron and he beat Gillum, but after the race when the votes were stolen by the corrupt Broward County electoral process and Ron was losing ten thousand votes a day, together with current Senator Rick Scott, I sent the FBI and US prosecutors and the theft of cards to voting ended immediately, just before they ran out of votes to win.
“I finished his election from being stolen,” he added.
Trump then called on DeSantis to indicate a little bit of “loyalty and sophistication” by openly declaring he wouldn’t run in 2024, accusing him of “playing games” by teasing a possible presidential campaign. Trump concluded:

The Wall Street I loved Low Energy Jeb Bush and various other individuals who quickly faded out of sight, eventually fitting in with me after I easily knocked them out, one after the other. That is the third time in lower than every week that the previous president has hit Ron DeSantis after calling him “Ron DeSantimonious” at a rally last weekend. The previous president also said on Monday he would do “big announcement” next week, which most political pundits interpreted as announcing a run in 2024.
The previous president also made a warning to DeSantis during an interview with Fox News Digital released on Tuesday.
“I do not know if he’s getting away. I feel if he runs away he can get hurt rather a lot. I actually imagine he could get hurt rather a lot, ”Trump He said. “I feel he would have made a mistake, I feel base would not prefer it – I do not think it could be good for the party.”
“Neither of these items is sweet – you might have other people who find themselves more likely to run around, I suppose. I do not know if he’s running. If he’s running, he’s running ”- he added.
Trump then alluded to revealing some dirt on DeSantis without specifying.
“I might let you know things about him that may not be very flattering – I do know more about him than anyone else – except perhaps his wife,” Trump said.
