In December 1867, Charles Dickens arrived in Recent York City for a month of sold-out performances by his beloved Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol. As The Recent York Herald exclaimed, “A Christmas Carol becomes doubly enchanting if you hear it performed by Dickens.”
Join Mr. Dickens, played by John Kevin Jones, as he tells his timeless Christmas fairy tale within the elegant, intact double lounge of the Greek Revival on the historic 1832 Merchant’s House Museum.
Surrounded by Nineteenth-century Christmas decorations, flickering candles and lavishly decorated period furniture, audiences might be transported back 150 years on this fascinating hour-long show based on Dickens’ own script.
