The fifth season of “The Crown” appeared on Netflix on November 9, and after the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, the series actually has a distinct feel to previous seasons – perhaps fitting a season that features a number of the Queen’s hardest years.
With the fourth season happening from 1979 to 1990, the most recent chapter takes us through the Nineteen Nineties, covering arguably probably the most scandalous era of the royal family. Elizabeth Debicki takes on the challenge of playing Princess Diana during her hiatus from the royal family in 1992 and beyond, although this season of the series doesn’t include Diana’s death in 1997; which can stay for the sixth and final season of the series.
As with previous seasons, the brand new season incorporates a mix of recent and returning stars because it tracks what happened to the royal family on the turn of the century. Learn more concerning the actors who’ve taken the lead royal roles this season.
