Elizabeth Hurley brings the vacation spirit to the large screen this week along with her latest movie, Christmas in Paradise. The 57-year-old actress plays Kelsey Grammer’s daughter, which she will be able to’t help but giggle at considering she’s only 10 years her senior.

“I do not know what Kelsey feels after I play his daughter – I’m surely older than his wife!” Hurley is joking about Yahoo Entertainment. But for Hurley, who rose to fame within the Nineteen Nineties, it shows the progress that has been made for girls within the entertainment industry.

“I believe I used to be lucky because, oddly enough, I feel like I actually have been offered more in the previous couple of years and have been given higher roles than I actually have had in years,” she continues. “I feel that it might be otherwise. You recognize, while you’re a younger actress, you frequently think, “Oh my God, it should get to a stage where I never work, or I’ll just be offered a very clumsy, boring, [mom] Parts. ‘ And I actually didn’t expect it in any respect. I do not know if it is a change on the earth or if I used to be just lucky, but I actually feel like now there are only many opportunities to still have a good time and really play the parts with an enormous heart. Sometimes comedy, sometimes tragedy, but I feel really blessed and completely happy about it. In reality, it’s happiness day-after-day. “

Hurley’s Christmas in Paradise is not cranky in any respect. The movie was filmed on the island of Nevis within the Caribbean, which suggests the actress essentially lives in bathing suits while filming. Hurley says she was all the time prepared for a moment in a bikini.

“Because at a time of madness I began my very own beachwear company, Elizabeth Hurley Beach, 15 years ago … I had a responsibility to be relatively beach ready in any respect times, which is crazy pressure to overlap, Hurley Actions. “And I do not know why I did it! I could make candles or soap or something, but as an alternative decided to make a really tiny bikini. So I actually have to take pictures all 12 months round. “

Hurley explains that “it’s never so bad you’ve got to get back in shape,” she even avoided the dreaded COVID 15.

For the upcoming holiday season, Hurley has her Christmas classics to look at: Last Christmas, Bad Santa, Home Alone and, after all, Love Actually, starring her buddy Hugh Grant.

“He’s incredible at it. I’m obviously an enormous fan of all his movies, nevertheless it’s a very good idea, ”says Hurley of his friend and ex-boyfriend.

Hurley and Grant starred opposite one another within the 1988 movie Rowing with the Wind, but they’ve not appeared together since then. When asked if she would really like to alter it, Hurley replies, “I do not know.”

“I mean we met the day [that] a movie 100 years ago and we were solid to play love interests against one another, ”he explains. “I produced two movies through which he was involved, but again, that was an extended time ago. I do not know if we could work together.

Hurley laughs, “We’re best friends, but a) we laughed and b) we shout at one another! So I’m unsure how nice it could be for everybody around us. “

Certainly one of the people Hurley will work with is her 20-year-old son, Damian. The actress is currently on set, starring in his first film, Strictly Confidential, which he directs and writes.

“I’m probably essentially the most wired of my life because I’m in every single place attempting to make it the perfect experience for him,” says the actress who also produces the film. “We wrap up just before Christmas after which head back home to the country.”

This 12 months Christmas might be dedicated to “dogs, family, friends, food” and hopefully “not an excessive amount of manual labor” within the Hurley house.

Christmas in Paradise might be available in select theaters, on demand and digitally on Friday 11 November
